Yoga means union: union between mind and body, between male and female person energy, between individual and cosmic energy. Is a path that leads to knowledge, peace and to sanity in all levels: fisic, energetic, mental and spiritual.
Yoga began thousand of years ago in India and thanks to the love and work of the teachers and students at that time, nowadays we're thousands of people who try to bring light, tolerance and understanding to ourselves and our environment.
In Hatha Yoga we look for energies union, balancing, cleaning and lining up our mind, body and energy lines throught: asana (positions), pranayama (energies work by respiration), mudra (body language) y banda (safty valves of energy that helps to maintain and recycle the vital energy).
At fisrst sight Yoga is only about body, but it is infact an integral practice which benefits all human dimensions.
The 3 types of Yoga more practiced in Occident are Hatha, which prioritizes the perfection of position, aligning the energy of the body and connecting it with the mind stability; Ashtanga, a more fluent Yoga that works in agile series of positions, giving excellent fisical results; Kundalini, works with kriyas or breathing exercises, through respiration the energy called snake kundalini wakes up, energy that is normaly sleep in the base of the pelvis, in order to help getting up the energy through the vertebral column up to the the head, reaching the energetic union.
