In Tulum the annual average temperature is of 26 C° (75 F°) and can climb up to 35 C° (86 F°) during  summer months. The average humidity ranges from 70 to 80%.

What to bring:

• Local Language: Maya. In the tourist area English, Italian, French and German are commonly spoken.

• Mosquito Happy Hour: During late afternoons, apply mosquito repellent and preferably wear long trousers.

• Using the Phone: The area code for the Riviera Maya (From Playa del Carmen to Tulum) is 984.
  All local numbers have 7 digits. To call local numbers within this area dial the 7 digits without the area code.
  Dialing to cell phones in the same area code requires the use of access code (044) and ten digits, 3 for the area code (984) and seven digits for the phone number.
  To call long distance within Mexico dial 01 + area code + phone number.
